The director of 'Love, Rosie' delivers another novel-based film. It centers on four young women and explores how they navigate life by juggling relationships and social events. The cast is appealing, with standouts like Dakota Johnson, Alison Brie, and even Leslie Mann, who looks wonderful despite being in her forties. The storytelling has depth, offering insight into these characters and their individual pursuits of happiness. I especially connected with Leslie’s storyline; perhaps it was the age element or the gentle portrayal of her romantic journey. Both Dakota and Alison carry the film with their charm, and their stories also have merit, effectively representing the lifestyle of young people today. The biggest pleasant surprise was Rebel Wilson, who I haven't always been a fan of, but she’s excellent here; it seems to be one of her best performances. The plot is solid, although it feels somewhat crowded with too many elements, yet it manages to weave them together through connections to the central characters. This allows for everyone’s narratives to unfold within a shared framework and provides enjoyable entertainment. It's undeniably a commercial film, but it also prompts reflection, particularly when viewed from a younger person’s perspective regarding the current state of the entertainment industry. I wonder if those criticizing it even saw the same movie, because it offers good times, and despite being geared towards women, anyone, especially adults, can find it enjoyable. There's an understated exploration of men as well—how they are pulled between their affections for women and what those women value. As a man myself, I genuinely liked it, even though the intended audience is female. It’s not a cinematic masterpiece, but certainly not among the worst films of recent years. The film revolves around everyone desiring to be in a relationship, which initially felt confusing, but the ending provides a reasonable explanation related to the title. It's definitely worth seeing if you are looking for some lighthearted entertainment. _7/10_
