It made for a genuinely absorbing experience. Dev Patel and Anupam Kher give believable performances as ordinary people who become victims of this terrible, senseless act of terrorism at their workplace, the Taj Hotel in Mumbai. Despite that, they decide to put themselves in danger to assist a group of privileged Westerners trying to survive the attempted massacre. The script seems to draw from actual mobile phone recordings, which gives it a distinctive sense of realism, and Maras’ direction provides a tight and skillfully constructed structure for Patel's capable – and remarkably flexible – portrayal of the events. It is definitely worth seeing.
