I’m going to disregard what others may have said about it; I found the movie enjoyable and was well-entertained. The negative scores and critiques didn't sway me, as I had faith in the director, largely because of her earlier film 'The Guilt Trip', which I really liked. It turned out to be a brief picture, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The plot is familiar: an honest police officer is set up during a witness protection incident, leading to a shootout. She has to summon all her strength and bravery to fight back and prove her innocence. Essentially, the story unfolds as a road trip, with the action presented in a humorous way. For me, it was worthwhile; it probably should be considered an acceptable film when taking everyone’s opinions into account, although it seems to be getting unfairly criticized. It's disheartening that something so charming and 'Tammy' are being so harshly dismissed. This isn't going to be the top movie of the year, but if you just want some entertainment or a way to pass the time, you might find it rewarding. The conversations were amusing, certain moments stood out, while others felt repetitive. Last year (2014) was an excellent one for Reese Witherspoon; both 'The Good Lie' and 'Wild' represent highlights in her career. This film marks her return to more mainstream projects. It may not reach the heights of those films, but it’s at least satisfying on a first viewing. 6½/10
