This movie presents two narratives: one focuses on a woman attempting to endure a night in a world after some kind of disaster, and the other follows a man and a woman as they meet and develop feelings for each other. The segment centered around survival would have likely been more effective if it stood alone; the romantic storyline felt like an unnecessary addition for viewers expecting a post-apocalyptic film. While the love story itself isn’t poorly executed within the larger context, fans of genre movies might not appreciate the inclusion of a traditional romance. I found that both stories did ultimately complement each other, though the movie wasn't without its shortcomings. Some of the performances felt questionable, particularly in the romantic plotline. The chemistry between the two leads didn’t always feel convincing, especially concerning Grégory Fitoussi’s portrayal. Brittany Ashworth, as Juliette, delivered a stronger performance, notably within the post-apocalyptic scenes. A significant issue was figuring out how the two stories were linked. I anticipated major revelations throughout the film, and felt let down by the relatively minor and somewhat absurd resolution. A common pitfall of films depicting events before and after a catastrophic event is the need to allow sufficient time for the story to unfold organically. This movie seemed to compress societal collapse into roughly 18 months. It’s similar to those movies set fifteen years in the future—viewers will later notice how many predictions failed to materialize, like with *Back to the Future*. And that's one of this film's problems; Juliette doesn't appear aged enough for the world to be as devastated as it is. It’s possible I was overthinking things, but it frequently pulled me out of the movie. Despite these issues, ninety minutes spent watching isn’t a terrible way to use your time. 6/10
