It’s an enjoyable film that I’d happily watch again and suggest to others. The narrative structure is cleverly interwoven, clearly drawing inspiration from "Strangers on a Train"—a connection the filmmakers openly acknowledge. It functions as a simplified adaptation of that concept. Picture a braid where one strand veers off course, colliding with another before continuing—the final result resembling an Escher drawing; that’s essentially what this movie is like. The film proves to be entertaining. Three accomplished actors portray some of the most unsavory characters imaginable (Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Aniston, and Colin Farrell), while three comedic performers (Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, and Charlie Day) embody ordinary, flawed individuals facing intensely serious circumstances that ultimately lead to their embarrassment. I believe that’s a successful approach, and the fact that it spawned a sequel reinforces my belief. If the story had been presented with a more solemn tone, it could have possessed real weight. Removing the crude humor wouldn't necessarily make it *more* enjoyable, but it would undoubtedly amplify its impact. Anyone who is employed or appreciates witnessing misfortune befall others will likely find this film appealing.
