This is a genuinely enjoyable film that I’d happily watch again and suggest others check out. There are some sensitive themes present, including rape and murder. The setup hints at certain elements, but some accounts leave out key details. Many films suffer when they attempt to juggle too many ideas, however this one manages to strike a pleasing equilibrium between a whodunit and religious mythology. I believe these two aspects work well together. The reason behind Daniel Radcliffe’s character having horns isn't really important; the abilities he develops help advance the central mystery. Throughout, the narrative maintains momentum—there were no moments where it felt like we were going over old ground or that things were slowing down; they do a solid job of keeping pertinent information accessible and revisiting details at an appropriate speed. Despite having a strong foundation, the story is quite melancholy, but I think this helps make Daniel Radcliffe’s character relatable from the start, and he remains likable due to the sheer absurdity of what he's going through. It’s also entertaining to observe how the influence of the horns impacts the various residents of the town.
