I had high hopes for this movie after reading the amusing book it’s based on, but in the end, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. The visuals are strong and the direction is solid; Daniel Radcliffe delivers a good performance, though. However, it misses the sharp wit and darker comedic elements that made the novel so enjoyable. Juno Temple's role feels underdeveloped, as do many of the supporting characters. What really holds it back is its tendency to take itself too seriously considering how ridiculous the story actually is. There are moments of wild, chaotic enjoyment, but they don’t happen often enough. The appearance of the creature at the end looks impressive, and then the movie simply concludes without a proper resolution. It had potential to be significantly better; perhaps my disappointment stems from setting my expectations too high. It's still decent enough to watch, even if it isn't something I’ll remember for long.
