It was an enjoyable film that I’d happily see again, and I can suggest it to others who aren't bothered by narratives centered around cancer. My primary motivation for watching was Brittany Snow, and she delivers a superb performance, taking what could have been a stereotypical portrayal and bringing depth to the character, revealing her inner turmoil and emotional scars. Sam Richardson and Anna Akana were unexpected highlights; their characters felt so well-developed that they practically deserved their own film—perhaps detailing how they initially connected or even a story about their separation before this one, or maybe even a look at their time in high school. Richardson manages to capture a similar quality in his portrayal as Snow does in hers, both conveying a sense of underlying pain, a yearning for emotional recovery, and a wealth of feelings. I understand the argument that there are already too many cancer-themed movies, but this one feels like something more than just that—it’s an unconventional romantic comedy incorporating elements related to cancer. It's definitely worth your time; it successfully blends serious themes with moments of sexual humor.
