This horror film, made on a small budget by a new director, turned out to be pretty good, considering the constraints. It’s essentially a story with very few actors, taking place in a remote cabin. The plot is straightforward and aligns with the title: it centers around a newlywed couple's honeymoon. Things proceed smoothly for them initially, but then unsettling incidents start occurring one after another. What happens to the couple as they deal with these events—whether they succeed or not—is what the remainder of the movie explores. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I didn’t find it to be a bad film at all. Regardless of what occurred, the tight storyline kept me interested from beginning to end. It does bring up questions about the events unfolding on screen and encourages viewers to use their own imaginations to interpret them. My initial thought was that it might involve Bigfoot, but I quickly realized otherwise. The writer seemed to share this approach, intentionally leaving gaps for audiences to fill in with their own guesses. I suspect most of the answers or explanations will be fairly predictable. Those who miss the point won’t lose much except perhaps feel they wasted some time. Others may even hope for a sequel that would provide a more detailed explanation. Certain conversations definitely suggested this possibility, though I don't anticipate one actually happening; it seems likely to remain an unsolved mystery indefinitely. It isn’t particularly frightening or violent, but the suspense is what makes the film work well. If you’re in the mood for something like that—rather than a movie full of blood and gore—it might be worth checking out. 5.5/10
