I’ve always found Will Ferrell funny, and when I first saw the preview for Holmes and Watson, I hoped it would be another opportunity to enjoy some laughs. Alongside John C. Reilly, this movie offers a comedic spin on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's well-known stories about Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson. The plot involves them having only four days to crack a case, with the Queen’s safety hanging in the balance. There are definitely moments that had me laughing out loud, some scenes caused me to chuckle, but also times when the story felt slow. If you're anticipating humor similar to films like Blades of Glory, Anchorman, or Step Brothers, this won’t quite deliver. However, if you adjust your expectations and are seeking silly jokes linked by a simple plot, you might find it entertaining.
