A young woman from Indiana, portrayed by Candice Rialson, travels to Hollywood with aspirations of acting stardom. Her journey leads her to Miracle Pictures, a production company whose motto is “If it’s a good picture, it’s a miracle.” She finds herself involved with the studio's questionable team, and Mary Woronov appears as an actress growing increasingly frustrated with her work there. “Hollywood Boulevard” (1976) offers a playful parody of low-budget filmmaking, blending comedy, action elements, slasher tropes, and more. The film is enjoyable for roughly the first forty minutes, but its appeal diminishes noticeably in the latter half. While it can be diverting if you’re looking for lighthearted entertainment that doesn't require much thought, it remains a superficial and disposable movie. Despite this, there's one unexpected scene that seems to have had an impact on Francis Ford Coppola, specifically inspiring the aerial assault sequence in “Apocalypse Now.” Candice Rialson became a recognizable face in B-movies during the 1970s, comparable to actresses like Claudia Jennings, although not quite as well known as Tara Strohmeier, who plays Jill. Rita George also stands out in her role as Bobbi. The film contains some full nudity, so viewers sensitive to that should be aware. Eleven years later, "Howling III: The Marsupials" would present a satirical depiction of filmmaking, echoing the approach seen here.
