It's an okay film, provided you enjoy older movies. There are some amusing and clever scenes throughout, though the romantic storyline doesn’t quite ring true. Maybe relationships just aren't passionate when famous people are involved—though I seriously question that. The dance sequences don't live up to Fred Astaire’s normal level of creativity, and a couple of songs centered on unimportant holidays feel pretty weak. The sets seem unrealistic too; would a farmhouse really be that big? Still, these are minor complaints. If you're okay with older black-and-white films, it offers decent entertainment, particularly when watched with others because you don’t have to pay close attention to follow what’s going on. I do wish there was more genuine romance and less discussion about it.
