Holidate proved to be an enjoyable and amusing holiday film, which is precisely what I look for in a new seasonal release. It's true that I might have been able to analyze it more closely and find flaws, but I generally prefer experiencing something as a viewer before dissecting it critically. What appealed to me was the way the narrative gave consideration to various characters; Aunt Susan, Sloane’s sister, and several others all had their own storylines woven into the larger enjoyment of the film, and they each received a sense of resolution by the conclusion. I don't expect Holidate will become part of my regular rotation of Christmas movies I watch periodically, but it offered a nice break from other things, and I wouldn’t object to seeing it again.
