The sequel really missed the mark. It seems like a beloved, accessible Halloween film has been altered with contemporary progressive politics and much of its comedic appeal was removed. Instead, it hammers home "THE MESSAGE," seemingly at the expense of everything else, while also appearing to disrespect both the existing fanbase and the actors from the initial movie, who would apparently be considered unacceptable figures now. They did what they could with the material—after ensuring all the required political points were addressed and any consideration for narrative was discarded.
