I’m puzzled by the negative reaction surrounding this film. It seems like a genuinely good horror movie, built around an interesting idea that it successfully executes. The actors were well-chosen, the direction was solid and the special effects were perfectly acceptable. There's a disturbing quality to it, and thankfully, it doesn’t rely heavily on gore. What I appreciated most was its willingness to simply proceed without feeling the need to constantly spell everything out for the audience. Focusing on the characters really heightened the sense of suspense and made it easier to connect with what was happening.
