Initially drawn to cycling, he later secured a position as a test driver for Williams Renault in his twenties, leading to the career that followed. The sport's reliance on substantial funding has ensured extensive coverage over time, allowing the archive researcher/producer to unearth some impressive material—including home movie footage of Hill as a child—which is paired with action photography chronicling his racing journey from its early stages into historical record. He possessed an undeniable charisma that resonated with audiences; he had classically handsome features and a playful grin. However, the absence of perspectives from other drivers regarding his character—his strengths and weaknesses—ultimately results in a timeline of events rather than a genuine understanding of the person who seemingly has oil running through his veins.
