What a letdown this turned out to be, considering everyone involved. It's needlessly complicated and remarkably effective at draining any enjoyment or engagement from the story, perhaps even more so than a black hole could. There’s absolutely no genuine feeling present while watching the ex-prisoner known as "Monte" (Robert Pattinson) and his daughter "Willow" (Jessie Ross) grapple with the loneliness of an increasingly intense life in space. The performances and script feel like something from a student film; even the spacesuits seem more engaging, and it really feels long. While I’ll admit there are moments when it's visually appealing, ultimately, this is just not impressive.
