The film follows a familiar pattern—a story of cultural conflict resulting in bloodshed—though the subject matter makes it worthwhile to experience again. Fundamentally, 'High Ground' explores the interplay between justice and racial issues. Each group simply desires to live its life; however, one believes this can only happen by dominating another. The question arises: what causes these conflicts among different groups of people? Is there a way to prevent history from repeating itself? There’s invariably an alternative path toward change—one that doesn't involve pointless destruction. It might be more challenging and require greater time, but the outcome would be valuable. Ultimately, it seems that freeing ourselves from recurring violence requires moving away from constructing our society on foundations of brutality.
