It’s a shame because there are skilled people involved, and some of them know their way around westerns. However, the filmmaking itself is lacking, and the whole project suffers from noticeably low production quality. The finished product resembles a made-for-TV movie, though even that kind of production likely had more funding than what was allocated for this film. Occasionally, you’ll notice an inventive lighting choice or something visually appealing—a brief flash of photographic skill. But these instances are infrequent, and it's obvious they were doing the best they could with very limited resources. The sets appeared inexpensive, particularly when viewed on a high-definition television screen. Even the fake blood looked unconvincing. To disguise its shortcomings, this movie would have been better off embracing darkness, keeping everything murky and dim. Instead, it opted for adequate lighting, which ultimately didn't conceal the film’s cheapness as effectively as it needed to.
