It was an enjoyable film and one I’d gladly watch again, and I suggest others check it out too. To be upfront, I initially believed this movie came out in 2020 because I can’t believe I hadn’t encountered the concept of Kevin James doing MMA before. The premise is reminiscent of that "Friends" bit where Jon Favreau's character attempts MMA due to his wealth. The production quality is surprisingly high, especially considering when it was made; it’s genuinely funny and features a remarkably well-developed character for Kevin James. It may be attributable to the fact that he begins as an unsavory person and evolves into someone better. It's honestly quite good, so I don’t want to delve too deeply into his arc—other than that it’s evident from the story itself that a transformation is central to the plot. I can’t recall having enthusiastically recommended a Kevin James film since "Hitch," but even if he isn’t usually your cup of tea, there are scenes where he takes quite a beating, which should at least provide some amusement.
