What exactly is “Fully Loaded” referring to? It seems like "Herbie" needed to settle some financial obligations, which explains why this playful little VW has appeared. He now belongs to "Maggie" (Lindsay Lohan), who comes from a family with a history in racing. Her father, "Ray" (Michael Keaton), achieved significant success but doesn't want his daughter to pursue the same path! The story moves on when she brings "Herbie" to mechanic "Kevin" (Justin Long), who agrees to restore him and prepare him for the road. Their goal is simple: raise money so he can repair his garage and she can afford college. “Herbie” is willing to help, and his clever actions on the track ensure that she overcomes every opponent, earning her a race against champion "Trip" (Matt Dillon) – a competition that could bring in $10k. "Trip" suspects something isn't right, and truthfully, "Maggie" begins to prioritize her car over people; “Herbie” seems put out by this and... Can they resolve their issues and defeat the arrogant and cunning "Trip"? Will the family’s long-standing reluctance finally be resolved? Will she end up with "Kevin"? (Whatever became of Justin Long?). Perhaps there'll even be some oil-related action for “Herbie” and a shiny new yellow car. It doesn't have much in common with the original "Love Bug" (1969) – it’s mainly a vehicle to highlight Lohan, and she manages to prevent it from completely falling apart. However, there aren't any memorable characters, and self-driving cars are no longer considered groundbreaking. It wasn’t terrible, but it could have easily been another "Knight Rider" episode without the signature light.
