It's an enjoyable film that I’d happily watch again and suggest to others. There’s something pleasing about seeing references to films like *Herbie*, and this one definitely embraces that style. It also feels like one of the last times Lindsay Lohan appears onscreen in a way that is appealing, or at least endearing. Lohan and Herbie are what largely hold the movie together, even though there are some decent performances from the other actors too. I’m accustomed to Justin Long being in smaller roles, and Matt Dillon as the antagonist, but it's somewhat strange to see Michael Keaton with such a limited part, although it fits the story. The fact that Herbie is portrayed as a racecar strains credulity, and the considerable effort invested in developing him as a character should detract from the film, yet this ultimately contributes to its unique charm.
