I'm not sure why there's been so much harsh criticism aimed at the 2019 _Hellboy_. It wasn't particularly impressive, and it definitely doesn't measure up to the earlier films by del Toro, but I don’t think all the negativity is entirely justified. However, it's clear that various issues arose during its creation, which are noticeable in how the finished film turned out. Final rating:★★½ - There were aspects of it that I liked, but ultimately it didn’t quite come together.
