I viewed Harry Brown over the weekend, and I have to say, it didn't live up to what I expected. While I generally enjoy Michael Caine’s work, this movie simply didn’t appeal to me. Some folks suggest it resembles a British take on Clint Eastwood’s Gran Torino, but that seems like an extreme comparison in my opinion. Gran Torino did have some genuinely good parts, even if the whole thing felt somewhat sad, but Harry Brown was mostly just gloomy, plodding and rather dull. It's true that the production quality was decent, and Caine gave a solid performance, however, the film’s pervasive sadness and depressing tone were simply too much for me to enjoy.
