This is an enjoyable film that I’d happily revisit and suggest to others. Although the movie shows its age now, that doesn't detract from the experience too much. The main difference would be how quickly information spreads in modern times; it’s likely the children involved would exacerbate the situation. It’s hard to believe after more than three decades that no other Bigfoot film has matched this one, and I am unaware of any others that portray Bigfoot favorably. Kevin Peter Hall, portraying the character Harry, delivers a remarkable performance. While an animatronics team handled some of the finer facial expressions, "Harry" is what truly carries the movie. John Lithgow also does excellent work as the relatable human lead, but it’s probably the family dynamic that makes this film so charming. That's precisely why it's worth watching. It manages to be humorous, heartwarming, and even has some action sequences. I think you will find this a worthwhile viewing experience.
