This is without question the least impressive of the _Hannibal_ films featuring Anthony Hopkins. My experience with the novels preceded seeing these movies, and that makes sense because the initial two books surpassed the third one in quality. Still, even considering that, I feel this film doesn’t do a very good job translating the original story to the screen. It's visually appealing, and there are some recognizable actors involved—though it’s hard to say any of them deliver performances that will be remembered as their best—Julianne Moore is acceptable in the role of Clarice Starling (though she isn’t quite as effective as Jodie Foster), and the plot itself isn’t terrible. But if I'm being truthful, I usually choose to skip this one when I decide to watch the stories about Lecter again. _Final rating:★★★ - I liked it. I would suggest you check it out._
