The pacing is unbelievably sluggish; even when sped up—though MX Player won’t allow a faster playback—it remains painful to watch. Surprisingly, some moments elicit laughter, like the extended sequence of an elderly man walking or a lengthy trumpet performance, which become comical at a higher speed, and similarly, prolonged crying into the camera becomes unintentionally humorous. I appreciate films that utilize deliberate pacing and long takes when they serve a purpose and have substance, but this feels simply embarrassing and affected, lacking any discernible skill or narrative foundation. It’s an incredibly dull presentation. The visual quality is also quite poor; most scenes are rendered in shades of gray instead of black—even during a blackout scene that should be completely dark—and the film appears to be a degraded analog copy with added imperfections, as if it were mishandled and then digitized poorly. Fortunately, this experience has made me sleepy; I’ve been struggling to sleep recently, but I'm feeling drowsy while writing this review.
