Having gone into Halloween Kills with reservations after my experience with the previous film, it didn’t exactly exceed expectations. Certain violent moments stood out, but overall, the movie felt underwhelming, and characters acted in ways that seemed illogical. Similar to what happened in Halloween II, Jamie Lee Curtis is largely confined to a hospital setting for most of the runtime. There was one particular scene early on—a fight between Michael and several firefighters—that just struck me as odd; it didn’t seem believable. Perhaps because I'm accustomed to seeing him systematically target individuals, the sequence felt awkwardly staged, showing him facing off against five or six people at once, which seemed out of place. Honestly, there isn’t much substance to this sequel, and like Halloween '18, I can’t say I’m eager for a return visit. **2.0/5**
