I gave this one two stars too, just like the first film. It seems there’s less nudity than before, so perhaps my initial assessment was incorrect; maybe the original aimed for satire rather than something exploitative, or possibly the graphic elements were lessened due to feedback. Regardless, there are still scenes of women who are murdered by a large, frightening male creature after violating some sort of religious principle. It remains unclear whether this was meant as commentary on horror films or if it simply served Zombie’s own purposes. The film doesn't quite capture the right feeling either. It has an attempted sleazy, low-budget quality but isn't well-executed enough to truly succeed in that style. It leaves a distinctly unpleasant impression. Despite all of the nudity, it feels more like an imitation of *Friday the 13th* than a proper addition to the *Halloween* series. Once again I wonder "Why remake this?" and now my answer is simply that Zombie is talented musically; he really ought to stick with that instead.
