It’s disappointing to see this horror series conclude, given its origins in 1978. Halloween Ends feels like a jumbled and unclear effort that doesn’t develop what came before. The narrative itself is hard to follow, seeming nonsensical except for the fact that it wraps up the main storyline—though in a rather muddled way. There are some positives; the performances are good, and there are a few suspenseful, startling scenes. However, these elements aren’t sufficient to compensate for its shortcomings. Ultimately, it's a film with capable actors hampered by weak writing, contributing very little of substance to Michael Myers’ story.
