The character’s unsettling, fractured gaze... it felt as though John Carpenter, or perhaps someone imitating him, was using a massive screen to display the suffering of an individual struggling with mental illness. There wasn't any sense of foreboding, just disturbing visions—though thankfully, the specifics were not shown—and Jamie Lee Curtis seemed completely lacking in appeal. The familiar plot doesn’t lead anywhere interesting.
