While "Gunner" isn't without its problems—the soundtrack leaves something to be desired, some of the visual effects aren’t great, and it definitely leans on familiar action movie elements—it manages to provide a throwback black ops adventure. Luke Hemsworth is impressive in his role as the lead character. Still, this film is best suited for when you're looking to kill about ninety minutes.
