The bear sequences suffer from similar limitations; it’s clear they lacked the budget for a real bear or even a convincing visual effect. That said, this is understandable given the project's scope. The individuals in the story feel indistinct and uninteresting, though not offensively so. A particular sequence involving what feels like an artificial baptism felt deeply unsettling to me. It comes across as a manipulation masked as kindness, and despite understanding how some might interpret it another way, I perceived it as demonstrating a lack of sensitivity and a disregard for cultural differences. It’s not terrible, but this film won't likely stick around in people’s memories for long.
