The only option is to resist! Coming from the filmmaker behind 'Blue Ruin', this is another crime-thriller. The story centers on a rock band who find themselves held captive inside a neo-nazi compound located just outside of town. The question then becomes, how will they manage to escape from the green room where they’re being kept, with armed individuals waiting for them? It's a film packed with suspense and largely unexpected developments that unfold over the course of a single day. I wasn't shocked by it; I was simply hoping for something as clever as his previous work. The director brought back Macon Blair, an actor he favors, for their third collaboration in this ensemble cast, and he delivered another strong performance. While the subject matter isn’t entirely new territory, the specific setting felt quite distinctive. Every member of the cast gave excellent performances; it was genuinely disheartening to learn about Anton Yelchin's passing. He was a promising actor, and I especially enjoyed his film '5 to 7'. Initially, I found the storyline somewhat absurd. I questioned why they wouldn’t simply use their strength to resolve the situation. However, that turned out to be its greatest asset, as it avoided predictable tropes and instead opted for a fresh approach. The writer—or director—did a fantastic job creating an unusual and exciting film this year. There's no martial arts action, clashes with criminal organizations, or police intervention; rather, it’s about how ordinary people react during a dangerous situation in a realistic setting. With 'Blue' and 'Green' now behind us, I am eager to hear what the director will announce for his next color-themed project. 7/10
