This film is truly awful. I’ve never been keen on stories where an endless string of unlikely misfortunes pile up, but this one carries it to extremes. The main character seems to be randomly pushing buttons, and she's so lacking in skill that you have to question how she ever qualified as an astronaut. The movie's depiction of physics and orbital mechanics doesn’t make any sense at all. Just one instance among many: the chances of the International Space Station and Tiangong being visible to each other are incredibly slim. Even if they were, their positions wouldn't remain aligned for the film’s length because they orbit on different planes. It would be impossible to move between them with a single burst meant for landing, let alone using manual controls. The first few attempts at docking ever took place from distances of 5 kilometers (not the 100 shown in the movie), and those efforts failed despite the pilots being far more capable than this character. There are so many mistakes that it wouldn't even be surprising if the film suggested Earth is flat—at least then it might be entertaining. This isn’t just me finding fault, because the movie attempts to appear realistic but completely misses the mark. The special effects look good, I suppose, but that’s not really something worth highlighting anymore (or when this movie was released).
