This is another film from John Cusack that didn’t really reach a wide audience. It centers on a father of two, portraying his love and sense of self-respect. I've seen countless movies with similar plots become huge successes, often due to the actors involved or the director's reputation. This one felt somewhat different than those familiar narratives. It's a road movie drama geared toward families. The film explores themes of togetherness and coping with loss. It offers moments of emotion, adventure, and lightheartedness—enough to make it worthwhile. I’m happy I watched this smaller film, which highlights the importance of family when you’re missing someone close. It's a straightforward and gentle movie, essentially a simple story stretched out over about eighty minutes. A decent offering for those who enjoy tearjerkers. The performances were good all around, as were the settings. It's a genuinely heartwarming film, which is exactly how I felt watching it, and you probably will too if you aren’t someone who always looks for faults to criticize. 8/10
