It's possible that people who are fond of dogs would enjoy this more than I did; I personally wasn’t very affected by this horror film reminiscent of stories set in cabins within forests. The narrative unfolds across several timelines, and it doesn't take long to realize that “Todd” (Shane Jensen) – whose face is rarely seen during the seventy-minute runtime – isn't doing well. He has relocated to his recently deceased grandfather’s rural house with his dog "Indy," but soon the dog senses something sinister nearby. Isolated and alone, what are the odds of either man or animal surviving whatever seems to be an undeniably evil presence surrounding them? There are a few fleetingly interesting parts, but they're just that—fleeting moments—as this rather flimsy plot progresses at a slow pace with not much occurring. For some reason, this isolated location has what looks like a massive graveyard, which is meant to contribute to the unsettling atmosphere, but a faulty generator, a storm, and snapping branches don’t really elicit any real fear anymore, perhaps only raising the pile on the rug. To give credit where it's due, the dog could have been trained by the famous Rudd Weatherwax and does most of the barking, but beyond that, this feels like an insignificant tale.
