The film is considered a foundational example for subsequent Bond films, and it’s easy to understand why when you see the opening scene. There's James Bond (played by Sean Connery) in disguise, sporting _a strap on plastic seagull_ attached to his head. It feels like a Roger Moore-style Bond film, even though he wasn’t playing the role yet! I enjoy the more outlandish Bond movies—Goldfinger and Octopussy are among my favorites. Octopussy features Roger Moore _riding a plastic crocodile_, while Goldfinger includes _Sean Connery wearing a strap on plastic seagull hat!_ _Thunderball_, released shortly after, kept up the silly tone with Connery's Bond piloting a jet pack and battling assassins who enjoy dressing in drag. It’s disappointing that the series lost its way in 2006, transforming into something completely ordinary when Daniel Craig took over.
