It’s remarkable that they managed to pull this off, especially considering the circumstances. This is a reimagining of the 1979 film with the same title. I haven't had the opportunity to watch the original, but I found this version enjoyable—though not necessarily something I would say I loved. It shares similarities with films like ‘Grandma Gangster’ and ‘Stand Up Guys’; you can spot a recurring theme among them. The story revolves around older men attempting something beyond their years and physical capabilities. If you're looking for lighthearted entertainment, this film will certainly deliver. The promotional image pretty much sums it up, but the movie reveals more details, including some unexpected plot developments. It centers on three friends who find themselves in a difficult situation when their retirement funds are jeopardized. On top of that, serious health problems and other financial difficulties lead them to rob a bank. The film follows their planning for the heist and what happens afterward, along with several tense moments. The performances were solid across the board from all three veteran actors; it’s nice to see them in such an active role instead of smaller parts in larger productions. Zack Braff also did a commendable job directing. I wasn't particularly impressed with his previous film, but this one is well-executed as a commercial project. He describes it as a reboot rather than a remake, and given its apparent success, a follow-up isn’t out of the question. Just watch it for enjoyment; trying to overthink it might leave you feeling let down. _6.5/10_
