I wasn't anticipating it being quite as enjoyable as it turned out, even with all the positive buzz surrounding it. It comes from the creator behind 'World’s Greatest Dad'. Another dark comedy, and this one surpasses that previous effort. The story centers on an unremarkable middle-aged man going through a divorce who finds fault with everything around him but feels powerless to change it. After losing his job and learning he has a tumor, he initially considers ending his life immediately. However, he then resolves to cleanse society before his passing. This marks the start of a violent spree, which later involves a young woman joining him, and the narrative details how far this goes. The premise feels familiar, but it still manages to work effectively. It’s not comparable to films like 'Bonnie and Clyde' or 'Pretty Poison'. You could list countless similar titles, yet the film remains straightforward and entertaining. The plot is fairly obvious, including the central reveal and several scenes, though the pacing of the storytelling is excellent, keeping you engaged with its presentation. This isn't a movie concerned with moral lessons; it explores situations born from confusion or misunderstanding, something particularly evident in the ending. If those kinds of elements don’t matter to you when watching a film, then this one might appeal to you. The actors are relatively unknown, but both leads deliver strong performances. The film could have potentially garnered more attention and box office revenue if it starred some bigger names. I haven't encountered a B-movie quite like this in a while. It gave me exactly what I was looking for from a film. Especially for a smaller production, there are often compromises due to budgetary constraints, but this one seems to have avoided those issues entirely; it’s genuinely impressive. Yes, it's a well-crafted movie—the writing and direction are solid, the acting is superb—making it a worthwhile find of its type. _7/10_
