The “Thorns” aren’t performing well in the “Roarball” league, even with the celebrated leopard “Jet” on their roster. When owner “Flo” discovers a video of the spirited young goat “Will” challenging another star player, "Mane," she recruits him to join the team. The sport blends American football and basketball; it's fast-moving and sometimes rough, so unsurprisingly captain “Jet” isn’t pleased about this small and opinionated addition. At first, the rest of the team looks down on their new teammate, and she keeps him off the field, but since they are still having trouble, perhaps it’s time to see what he can do? The plot follows a familiar pattern, and I wasn't keen on the animation style—it appeared somewhat shaky, and the viewpoints felt inconsistent as the story deals with standard themes of fame, ambition, teamwork, confidence, and even some straightforward greed, lasting for roughly one hundred minutes. Apart from the goat and the leopard, there isn’t much effort to develop the personalities of the other players, and it could have been more entertaining to explore just how cutthroat and self-serving professional sports can be, regardless of success or failure—that might have added some substance. It's adequately enjoyable, and the determined "Will" is fairly captivating, but ultimately it’s not remarkable.
