Disney during the mid-2000s was producing some really excellent movies, and *Glory Road* is another strong example of that. It initially gives off a vibe similar to films like *Remember the Titans* or even *Coach Carter*, seeming almost derivative at first. However, it ultimately establishes its own distinct identity. While those other films are also enjoyable, I felt this one captured the emotional depth and authenticity of what happened just a little bit more effectively—the sports sequences also feel more genuine, in my view. Josh Lucas delivers a solid performance as Don. It might not be considered an exceptional acting achievement overall, but it’s exactly the right portrayal for the character. The supporting cast is strong too; Damaine Radcliff (as Cager), Al Shearer (as Shed), and Mehcad Brooks (as Flournoy) all do good work. The story is captivating, the writing is sharp, the music is wonderful, there's a meaningful theme present, and the actors appear to have truly committed themselves. It’s a quality film, even considering Disney’s typical style. My only real complaint? That fake nose on Jon Voight—it was pretty noticeable!
