It's not exactly a great film; it really could have been improved. However, I did find it enjoyable. Even if skateboarding isn’t your thing, this movie is genuinely fun to watch—it has that classic 80s action/adventure feel. There's a decent police procedural at its core, even though most of the action revolves around skateboarding, which is entertaining in itself. I believe much of the criticism stems from the fact that it seemed to be taking advantage of what was considered a temporary trend back in the 80s. Despite this, the story holds up well for what it aims to be. It delivers a positive message about family and features believable character development—something Hollywood seems to have lost touch with lately: crafting a strong narrative. Yet, somehow, this film manages to do just that while also capitalizing on the skater craze that was popular at the time.
