I found this movie to be genuinely funny, wonderfully absurd, and surprisingly heartfelt. Those who are really into Hollywood or the Oscars probably won’t appreciate it—it's just not that kind of picture. The film exaggerates the disorder inherent in living, while also dealing with themes of disability and racial unrest. Ultimately, I felt this had to come from lived experience because it seems impossible to invent something like this. There were numerous instances where I hesitated to laugh, worried I’d miss what came next. After all, if we don't find humor in life, we'll just end up sad. Despite everything, the film’s gentleness still managed to make me tear up.
