Ghosted manages to elicit some genuine chuckles and the action sequences are enjoyable, though its shifting style can become tiresome. It’s generally a pleasant spy comedy experience; nothing groundbreaking, but an agreeable way to spend time. The film struggles to define itself, bouncing between a lighthearted romantic comedy and a more intense espionage story. Similar in spirit to films like Knight and Day or The Killers, Ghosted doesn't consistently embrace its comedic aspects. Humor appears sporadically, with Chris Evans primarily handling the lighter moments while Ana de Armas is often involved in action scenes. Despite this tonal inconsistency, there’s an undeniable energy throughout. It includes well-executed action sequences, exciting car chases, beautiful scenery, and stylish clothing – all hallmarks of a traditional spy movie. The humor proves more effective than what was present in The Gray Man, and the action surpasses that of Red Notice, giving Ghosted a slight advantage over other streaming adventures. While it's imperfect, featuring an ill-fitting soundtrack and a sense of uncertainty about its own identity, the things it does well are captivating enough to warrant watching, and perhaps even suggest a continuation of the story… possibly.
