The other Horsemen of the Apocalypse. A group of college students become disoriented when their bus goes missing and discover they’re stuck in a Wild West Ghost Town filled with malevolent entities. It's not terrible, especially considering it’s a low-budget TV movie; there are some creative deaths—one involving gasoline vomit that stood out—along with Billy Drago playing a nasty Cowboy spirit and some tilted camera shots used effectively to build suspense. It was interesting seeing how the writer, Andy Briggs, combined mathletes and athletes, even though it wasn't a new idea, creating a unique group dynamic and allowing for a fairly satisfying ending as the surviving students attempt to escape hell using both their intelligence and strength. However, director Todor Chapkanov seems overly reliant on shaky camera work, which detracts from the atmosphere the film is trying to create. The soundtrack feels out of place and excessively loud, almost underlining how jarring sound can be. And the town itself looks like it was constructed for an American theme park. Shot in Sofia, Bulgaria, at its core, it’s about attractive young adults meeting unfortunate ends while dealing with typical teen issues like anxiety, intimidation, and desires. The movie feels caught between genres, unsure whether to focus on gore, scares, or a Western feel, but as far as Syfy Channel distractions go, it's adequate. It earns a 4/10.
