It’s not often I pay much attention to characters’ romantic lives in movies; usually, I feel like romance just gets in the way. However, with _Get the Girl_, I'm compelled to suggest how different it could be if the main character were gay—keeping everything else identical. In my view, that would make for a significantly better film. Since that isn’t what happened, what sticks with me after watching _Get the Girl_ are two straightforward observations: one was learning something new, and the other simply reinforced an existing belief. Those things are: 1) There exists someone named Jerry Purpdrank, and 2) Adi Shankar is a strange individual. _Final rating:★★ - It had elements I liked, but it didn’t come together well._
