Those who appreciate “Dr. Who” may find some amusement in this somewhat silly film featuring latex costumes, even if Cornel Wilde doesn't display his usual charm here. He portrays palaeontologist "Boley," accompanied by his daughter "Diana" (Jennifer Salt), as they journey to Arizona to examine a strange skull discovery. Soon, they are attacked by horned green beings that have been asleep for ages and now want to prevent humans from gaining control. It falls to “Boley” to try and arrange some kind of peace agreement, but with both sides eager to destroy each other, it's an uphill battle. The production clearly didn’t spend a lot, the visuals are simple and upbeat, and the digitally altered voices of these green creatures aren't particularly impressive, yet it manages to be a diverting adventure that utilizes natural locations like caves, forests, and a small log cabin to generate a subtle feeling of dread through clever use of lighting and sound. If you’re into this type of movie and value seeing how ingenuity manifested before computer technology became prevalent, then you should probably enjoy it. Don't expect too much, however.
