I went into this film anticipating something pretty chaotic, after reading several opinions about it. However, the presence of Colin Firth, Tom Courtney, and some other performers convinced me to check it out. From beginning to end, I genuinely liked it; it’s surprising, really. I'm not certain what prompted all the negative reactions—whether it was from people who are very particular about Coen brothers films (who wrote the script but weren’t involved in directing), a fondness for the earlier adaptation which I haven’t had a chance to view, or something else entirely. It isn't a work of genius, but it provides entertainment. That’s my honest assessment. The story did have some moments that didn't quite connect, but I was simply watching it for enjoyment and nothing more; that’s what struck me as significant.
