It certainly wasn't fantastic, but it was considerably better than the initial film. Dwayne Johnson didn’t portray the same kind of skilled chef wielding a powerful weapon that many people enjoyed, however, the narrative and the individuals felt much closer to the spirit of the original GI Joe comics and cartoons. The movie evoked something resembling the earlier days of GI Joe, reminiscent of when Larry Hama was crafting a military comic intended for young boys with an interest in military toys, as opposed to the extravagant devices that appeared later in the early nineties. Ultimately, what stood out most was how well the characters aligned with their comic book counterparts; they felt more developed and possessed distinct personalities compared to the previous film, which is what made GI Joe enjoyable.
